I’m an experienced public speaker known for my ability to break down large and complex topics into honest, friendly and simple yet nuanced (and occasionally entertaining) talks and discussions. Anyone who knows me will tell you I love a good natter or infodump, and this paired with my passion for increasing understanding and access to information, is why I love speaking.

As a creative, I also like to say that I'm ‘driven by silliness and spite’, in that I enjoy using sarcasm, humour and satire to dismantle political talking points and bring a bit of joy. Not in a toxic positivity way, in a ‘I think bigotry's a bit daft, so why not be a bit daft in return?’ way, and you’ll see all of those things make regular appearances in my writing too.

Chronic Creatives: Navigating a career in voice acting while neurodivergent, chronically ill or disabled.

A panel with fellow voice actors Elizabeth Plant and Hannah Hebblethwaite at Snappy Gurus Careers Week 2026. We discuss how voice acting is (and isn’t) accessible to us, skills such as self-advocacy and creating an access rider, and what the industry can do to make things better.

Rez High: Changing the game through audio fiction

A panel at Norwich Games Festival 2025 hosted by Rusty Quill Events Manager Jess Anson. Alongside myself, the panel featured Rez High Creator and Writer Brendon Connelly and Composer and Sound Designer Katie Seaton. The Rez High trailer was revealed for the first time, and we discussed the series (no spoilers) and its influences, inclusive sound design and accessibility in games.

Involving Children and Young People in policy formation

As part of the BMA Patient Liaison Group’s Online Symposium in 2024, I spoke on a panel about my time as a member of the Health Inequalities subgroup of the NHS Youth Forum, and presented our survey which examined the personal healthcare experiences of marginalised CYP, emphasising the critical need to value these/our voices in policy formation.

I interviewed Charli about their debut book All Tangled Up: in Autism and Chronic Illness, at Waterstones Birmingham. We talked about intersecting barriers to accessing healthcare and education, including a variety of experiences in the book and how they balanced the writing and outreach process with managing their disabilities.

At the Autism Show 2023, I spoke about navigating all aspects of Uni life, barriers, and self advocacy skills. After gaining knowledge from roles as Disability Officer at Newcastle University Students Union and on the North East Autism Society’s education campaign alongside Disabled Students UK, and having my own time at Uni cut short due to illness and inaccessibility, this was an honest and actionable talk grounded in the reality disabled students face.

In 2023, I was awarded the Pride of Newcastle University Award for Outstanding Contribution to Diversity and Cultural Awareness, for spending 400 voluntary hours as Disability Officer, alongside other work, fighting for basic accessibility in higher education. I expressed that despite appreciating the award, I should not have won it for doing work that should’ve already been done for me, after telling everyone to “Piss On Pity” (Google it).
What Can Mathematicians Do?

During the final year of my Physics with Astrophysics degree, the School of Maths, Stats and Physics invited me to speak at an online event for school children, showcasing the interesting, cool, and sometimes weird and wacky things mathematicians and physicists are doing. My talk focused on finding my place in physics as a neurodivergent person.

A few months into my role as Disability Officer, I took part in a panel discussion for the Feminist Society with Dr Daniel Jones, PhD Lecturer, and Postgrad Student & Disability Advocate Martha Dale about accessibility in higher education and how support and services differ across the academic hierarchy.
Diagnosis: Rediscovering Myself

After discovering my ex-secondary school teachers casually replied “Oh we know.” to my Mum (working there as a midday) informing them I’d finally been diagnosed autistic the year prior - confirming I missed out on help I needed due to no-one speaking up - I gave a talk at The Autism Show 2022 on growing up visibly needing support as an autistic person and still slipping through the net. Told through personal stories both amusing and… less so.
