About Me
Hiya!
I’m Lozza (they/them) and I’m a northern, non-binary and disabled actor & voice actor.
As an autistic person, the games I've played and the stories I’ve enjoyed make up a core part of who I am. Aside from being one of my longest spanning interests, gaming is the reason I learnt to socialise, bonded with friends and found others like me. So it's no wonder I gained a massive appreciation for the work that went into creating my favourite characters, and the actors portraying them!
I would constantly repeat lines my favourite characters had said, and loved trying to recreate their voices and performances (to the annoyance of my parents).
Growing up anxious and autistic, I didn't think performing was for me, but now as a queer, disabled adult, I'm a big believer in the power of authentic representation and how that can positively impact the next generation.
While training with the National Youth Theatre I also developed a passion for theatre and devising, and I now have experience performing across stage, audio drama and video games.
Some Background
I began my work as a disability advocate in 2021 when I finally received my diagnoses of autism and ADHD after suspecting I had both since I was 11. I originally started as Disability Officer at Newcastle University Student's Union, then worked as a member of the NHS Youth Forum with the British Youth Council.
During my time as Disability Officer, I began writing about disability online and creating content on social media, and have since worked with charities, delivered talks and spoke on panels, podcasts and the radio.
I graduated from Newcastle University with an aegrotat degree in Astrophysics in 2023 after studying became too inaccessible for me. I had intended to pursue physics for a number of years, but it became apparent that this would no longer be an accessible path for a chronically ill, neurodivergent person. So, I used my existing passions for gaming and performance and began pursuing acting and voice acting! (I keep telling people I’m in my Brian May era, though I’m yet to do something as impressive as forming Queen.)
What I’m up to
Currently, I split most of my time between auditioning for roles, honing my craft and writing about disability and gaming on my Substack. If I'm not doing any of those things, you can probably find me yapping in some corner of the Internet, or playing games with Barney on my PC or Nintendo Switch.
Some of my favourite games include: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild, Fallout New Vegas, Animal Crossing: Wild World, Skate 3, Portal 2, Beyond: Two Souls, Baldur’s Gate 3, Disco Elysium, Little Big Planet, Still Wakes the Deep, Thank Goodness You're Here, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, Saints Row 4, Detroit: Become Human, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party and Barnyard (no I'm not joking, it's actually fantastic).
(Sorry, I said 'some of' and then listed nearly all of them anyway)
I’m also a massive fan of the Lord of the Rings, and I'm a big nerd for video game soundtracks.
